Laura Nix <nixpix@earthlink.net> directed the feature film The Politics of Fur, which won the Grand Jury Award for Best Feature and Best Actress at Outfest 2002 in Los Angeles, and is currently showing in festivals worldwide. She has also directed a dozen short films and videos, including Possession, an erotic film about an armchair, which has screened widely at art institutions and festivals in the U.S. and internationally. Her documentary work appears on special edition DVD's for major studios, including the feature length doc "Whether You Like It or Not: The Story of Hedwig," among many others. She co-directed a segment for HBO's show Real Sex, associate produced the feature documentary The Celluloid Closet, and has worked as an editor and sound editor on several public television documentaries. She received her MFA in the Visual Arts department at UC San Diego, and currently lives in Los Angeles, California.
